Conference Dinner

Conference Dinner

For the eleventh time, scientists from all over the world met at the Falling Walls Conference to discuss on November 9, which walls fall next - from exploring black holes to finding a malaria vaccine, alternatives to meat, and protecting against surveillance capitalism. The AXICA was once again partner of the event and so the Conference Dinner took place right next to the official celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Adapted to the theme of the conference, our chef André Steuer designed a 100% vegetarian menu for dinner. Elaborate and beautifully presented was the appetizer: an "autumn walk" with seasonal pickled and smoked vegetables on autumnal leafy lettuce. In the middle there was beetroot ravioli with pear, walnut and cress. The salsify risotto with porcini mushrooms, purple carrot and Parmesanchip was very well received by the guests.

For the dessert, a buffet with saffron chocolate cream with honey fruits, carrot mousse with cardamom and almond crunch, and leavening casserole with autumn apple was set up.

For project manager Anna Lisa Kammeier, the coordination of the dinner with more than 440 international guests was a special challenge this time. The area around the Brandenburg Gate was very much frequented by visitors due to the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The cooperation with all trades ran, thanks to the good planning, like clockwork and the guests and organizers praised the perfect preparation and execution and especially our kitchen and service.
