Helmholtz Imaging Conference

Helmholtz Imaging Conference

At the two-day conference on May 31 and June 1, 2022 at AXICA, everything revolved around the topic of "imaging" - the visualization of scientific findings using images. And this in all fields of science: from medicine to geology to astronomy.

Helmholtz Imaging awarded the "Best Scientific Image 2022" selected by an international jury, entitled "Europe in Winds" by Nikolay Koldunov of the AWI. The image shows wind gusts over Europe as simulated by a next-generation climate model with 4 km spatial resolution in the atmosphere.

Among the guests were scientists from the Helmholtz Association, the German Aerospace Center, the Alfred Wegner Institute, the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY and many others.

The AXICA team was only amazed by the highly scientific and extremely diverse topics that were exchanged. Of course, all program points ran like clockwork and the guests enjoyed the conference, award ceremony, breaks and all the trimmings in the inspiring ambience of Frank O. Gehry's trend-setting architecture.

From the organizers from the Helmholtz Imaging Management Unit we received this nice feedback:

"We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all those involved from AXICA and AMBION for the perfect and extremely professional organization and support of our annual conference. The extremely positive feedback from the participants was made possible not least by you and your fascinating rooms."
