Sustainable New Years Reception
Our New Year's reception this year was all about sustainability. After the approximately 130 guests were greeted by the branch manager of DZ BANK Mr. Peter Gudat, Jennifer Usadel from GemüseAckerdemie had the floor.
GemüseAckerdemie is a non-profit organization that is committed to appreciating nature and food. The guests learned how the association creates unique experiences around food in daycare centers and schools. The children gain knowledge about and experience nature, food and healthy nutrition with fun. In addition, they develop social skills and understand what sustainability means when they move around in the fresh air. In the meantime, over 21,000 children and adolescents are working in 475 learning institutions throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
We became acquainted with the GemüseAckerdemie on our way to becoming a "Sustainable Meeting Partner Berlin" and support them with donations from our monthly charity lunch. We can now call ourselves the "learning location sponsor" of the daycare center in Lützowstrasse.
For the New Year's breakfast we have prepared recipes from the “Ackerkochbuch” (field cookery) of the GemüseAckerdemie, such as pumpkin spread, fruit salad with Jerusalem artichoke and roasted pumpkin, and quiche with goat cream cheese and rosemary, giving our guests a sustainable and healthy start into the day (and the new year).
